The domestic tourist season traditionally starts around St. Patrick's Day, and the hotels currently housing a large number of refugees look to revert back to the tourist accommodation role - what is the plan??

The winter eviction ban is expected to expire on the 31st. March, yet we still have no idea what will happen after this. A large number of small private landlords are determined to exit the market, but where are the current tenants in occupation going to live?

Perhaps it is time for the local authorities to seriously look at purchasing some of these properties to allow these tenants security of tenure and a guarantee of a roof over their heads.
